Rainbow Rush brings colour and joy to Hoedspruit

The Rainbow Rush Challenge filled The Thirsty Giraffe with colour and fun, raising funds for local wildlife and cat rescue causes.

HOEDSPRUIT – Hoedspruit burst into colour and excitement on Saturday, June 21, during the vibrant Rainbow Rush Challenge held at The Thirsty Giraffe.

The event was a dazzling success, with participants of all ages covered head to toe in colour, all for a good cause.

Money raised went toward supporting two local non-profits: the Scales Conservation Fund and the Greater Kruger Alley Cats Initiative.

Kicking off the festivities, Maureen Lahoud from the Barefoot Dance and Drama Academy energised the crowd with her lively warm-up sessions.

Her contagious enthusiasm got everyone, from toddlers to seniors, moving and grooving, setting the perfect tone for the fun that followed.

Adding to the excitement, Hoedspruit Private Hospital handed out goodie bags to the most spirited warm-up participants in each group, much to the delight of kids and adults alike.

Meanwhile, Manzi Hoedspruit kept everyone refreshed and hydrated throughout the day.

A brand-new foam tunnel became an instant favourite, with cheers echoing across the course as runners passed through. Inflatable obstacles added another layer of fun, especially for the kids who tackled them with joy and laughter.

“The colour chaos was the highlight, of course,” said Amy Aucamp-Clark of the Scales Conservation Fund. “By the end, everyone was transformed into walking rainbows—it was pure joy!”
