A school bus incident near Magoebaskloof involving 30 learners and 11 staff members has led to traffic delays as recovery efforts continue.

Traffic has resumed along the R71-1 at Magoebaskloof following a school bus incident earlier today.

Authorities confirmed that 35 individuals were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Two adults suffered moderate to serious injuries and were taken to Tzaneen Medicare, while three others with minor injuries were transported to Van Velden and Letaba Hospitals.

Among the learners, two sustained moderate to serious injuries and were admitted to Van Velden and Letaba Hospitals, while 28 others with minor injuries were also treated at the same facilities.

The road has since been cleared for traffic, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain underway.

According to the Department of Transport, all patients have been transported to Tzaneen Medicare, Van Velden Hospital, and Letaba Hospital for medical care.

Officials have confirmed that the scene is under control, with traffic officers conducting point duty services as only one lane remains open.
