Giyani born SANDF intern shines in communications

Rhandzu Mabunda is making waves in SANDF communications, using her creativity and PR skills to drive impactful digital campaigns.

LIMPOPO – As Women’s Month 2025 came to a close, the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) shone a spotlight on Rhandzu Mabunda, an intern whose dedication and creativity have left a mark.

Born in Homu Block 14B, Giyani, Rhandzu is a public relations graduate from the Vaal University of Technology.

Today, she serves in the SANDF’s corporate communications, where she blends professionalism and innovation to amplify its message across digital platforms.

Her social media work spans TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X. It is never about chasing trends. Instead, she focuses on accuracy, relevance, and purpose, ensuring every campaign is both informative and impactful, said Corp Noluvo Linomtha Mabanga.

“Rhandu’s work feels like a conversation you want to be part of, calm, confident, and genuinely human,” said Mabanga.

Behind the scenes, Rhandzu thrives in collaboration. She has a sharp eye for branding, design and government infographics, while also lending her talent in reporting and photography.

“She’s not just an intern, she’s a vital part of our team,” Mabanga explained.

In honouring Rhandzu, the SANDF saluted the countless women whose service, whether spotlighted or unseen, strengthens South Africa’s security.
