Flights to Hoedspruit suspended due to Kruger floods
Airlink has grounded all flights to Hoedspruit after severe flooding cut road access to the airport, which serves KNP and surrounding lodges.
HOEDSPRUIT – All commercial flights to and from Hoedspruit have been suspended due to severe flooding that has cut road access to the airport, which serves Kruger National Park and the surrounding lodge industry.
Airlink announced the suspension today (January 14) as floodwaters in the area left many roads impassable. The suspension affects all eight daily Airlink flights connecting the town to Johannesburg and Cape Town.
This affects the following daily Airlink flights:

“We apologise for the inconvenience this is causing our customers,” said Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht. “Airlink personnel are working with their counterparts at SANParks and the other service providers to do everything possible to minimise the disruption and expedite the resumption of our flights and operations at Hoedspruit airport.”
The airline is in direct contact with SANParks and private lodges to assist passengers who are currently stranded at their destinations. Passengers with bookings for the remainder of the week are also being notified.
Airlink stated that flights will only resume once the relevant authorities declare the airport safe for operations.
In the interim, customers requiring assistance with booking changes are advised to contact the Airlink Reservations office on +27 11 451 7300 or their travel agency.
Updates will also be posted on the Airlink app, website, and social media channels.
