JUST IN: Tzaneen lawyer arrested for fraud and theft

Members of the Limpopo Hawks Serious Commercial Unit have arrested a 40 year old suspect who is a director of a Tzaneen law firm for fraud and theft on Thursday.

Stanley Malatji allegedly claimed money from the Road Accident Fund (RAF) on behalf of his clients.

After the money was paid into the trust fund account, he withdrew all of it for himself without paying out the clients.

The estimated total of R1 950 590 was suffered by the Attorneys Fidelity Fund.

Malatji has already appeared at the Tzaneen Magistrate Court on Thursday and he was granted R5 000 bail.

The case was postponed to April 12, investigations are still on.
