Elderly day celebration made special by #TzaneenBusinessChamber

An elders day celebration was held at Vuk’usenzele Mental Health Centre in Dan Village courtesy of the Tzaneen Business Chamber.

The Tzaneen Business Chamber together with Hotel@Tzaneen, Blue Dot Group, Trans Letaba Panel beaters and D’arcy Herman and Co donated three full sets of bedding, blankets and three big cakes for the celebration.

Three elderly women who are 100 years old and above each received full bedding sets while the rest of the elderly got blankets.

Tzaneen’s First Lady, Mohlago Mangena also donated toiletries to the elderly.

She commended the families of the elderly people who attended the event for looking after them.

Lukas Groenewald of Tzaneen Business Chamber said the donation was part of the chamber’s social responsibility projects aimed at supporting and empowering formerly disadvantaged communities.

“We are honoured to be part of this memorable event which is in support of our elderly people,” said Groenewald.

Councillor Cassius Machimane encouraged business people to continue helping the government in providing services to the communities.

Abraham Monyela, the project director of Monye-Le-Shako Old Age Exercise and Home Based HIV/Aids Nursing, thanked the chamber and other contributors for making the event possible.
