ICOLLEGE: Your future starts now!

iCollege was founded in 1997 under the name ‘Stanford Computer and Business College’. The name change took place in 2013 when the college was acquired by iHoldings (Pty) Ltd. iCollege is registered with the DHET (2010/FE07/076) and offers National SETA-accredited courses ranging from NQF 2 to NQF 5 levels. The college has accreditation at five National SETAs and is also a registered Microsoft Training Academy.
iCollege offers free education to more than 25 000 students on 15 campuses nationwide. Students qualify for scholarships if they are between the ages of 18 and 28 years, unemployed and South African citizens.
The duration of the scholarship, which is valued at R42 000, is 12 months.
The iCollege vision is to help empower South Africa’s youth by eliminating their socio-economic disadvantage. There are thousands of youths in South Africa who have degrees, diplomas or certificates but cannot find full-time employment as they have no work experience. Thousands more cannot find employment as they have no higher education, due to the cost of obtaining it.
Therefore, the college does not only offer students education, it makes students ‘job ready’ during the scholarship term. Students undergo training sessions on various job activities, ranging from marketing, recruitment and sales, to administration and project management. Assessment of their work performance counts towards their qualifications. Qualified students enter the job market with job experience and more confidence, and are thus more valuable to future employers.
Commission earned by the students while they perform job activities enable them to support themselves and their families in their communities. iCollege also strives to place qualified students in full-time positions with some of the sponsoring companies after completion of their scholarship term. iCollege– Affordable Quality Education!
