Sefa roadshow comes to Randfontein

This was to raise awareness on the funds available for small businesses.

The Small Enterprise Finance Agency (Sefa) hosted a successful informative road show on 7 February at the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng.

This was part of their ongoing national roadshows aimed at informing communities about the availability of funds for small businesses.

According to Sefa spokesperson Innocent Ndima, Sefa has so far conducted over 23 national roadshows in Gauteng specifically in Soweto, Alexander and Hammanskraal.

“We have had well-established and budding entrepreneurs in the West Rand including Westonaria and surrounding areas attend our event on the day and that is what we wanted to see.

“Our mandate is to provide funding to mmall, medium and micro-sized enterprises (SMME’s) from as little as R500 to R5 million as a vehicle to creating jobs and alleviating poverty.

“These loans are made available through Sefa’s direct and wholesale lending as well as credit guarantee schemes with banks,” says Ndima.

“The agency is a result of the merger between the South African Micro Apex Fund, Khula Enterprise and the small business activities of the IDC.

“Sefa was assisted in its presentation by its partners including the Department of Economic Development, Industrial Development Corporations, Small Business Development Agency, the South African Revenue Service, Gauteng Enterprise Propeller, and Companies Intellectual Property Commission,” says Ndima.
