Employees of the W’aria municipality honoured

Those serving the municipality 10 years and longer rewarded for their hard work.

A number of employees were honoured during the Westonaria Local Municipality’s first annual employee awards event held at the municipal banquet hall recently.

This was to honour and reward employees who have been serving the municipality for 10 years and longer for their hard work and excellence.

According to the Westonaria municipal manager Thabo Ndlovu the awards were in line with their mandate of empowering the staff and assuring them that their services are valued within the municipality.

“For us to bring about better service delivery, it is important that we acknowledge the skills and performance of staff members. Only then we can have a productive environment to serve our communities and that is truly vital,” Ndlovu says.

“We therefore commend our employees for their loyalty, dedication and faithfulness to the council,” Ndlovu continues.

He added that workers’ dedication does not go unnoticed.

Wendy Mlambo who won the personal achievement and work performance awards says the council should continue commending hard work and diligence to boost staff morale.

“It is very important for management to praise staff and not forget to empower them with the necessary tools to enhance their performance,” Mlambo says.
