Power failure confirmed

Several areas in town without power: "Technicians are working on the problem" — municipality

After receiving several phone calls, BBM messages and emails, the Randfontein Westonaria herald confirmed that various parts in and around Randfontein experienced power outages on Tuesday.

The herald immediately contacted the Randfontein Local Municipality to determine what the problem is, and when it will be resolved.

According to the Spokesperson of the Mayor at the Randfontein Local Municipality, Lucky Chiya, they are aware of the problem.

He adds that technicians from Randfontein Local Municipality are working tirelessly to determine what the problem is.

Chiya explains that Randfontein Local Municipality is working alongside technicians from Eskom to resolve the problem and to restore the electricity in town.

“Although our technicians are working around the clock, it is still unclear as to how long it will take to resolve this issue,” says Chiya.
