Hallelujah, no power cuts expected for December

Residents can enjoy their Christmas — Eskom.

Rumours that load shedding will take place over the festive season and December period is untrue.

Communications officer, Khulu Phasiwe put everyone’s mind at ease stating on Monday that “We actually see a drop in the demand as most people are off on holiday and do not have their usual work routines. For December, there should be no load shedding but of course, things could change.

“If things don’t change, the risk of load shedding is very low for today and the whole of December,” Phasiwe said.

This comes after large amounts of maintenance and load shedding has been carried out.

This means that residents can enjoy their Christmas with the comfort of electricity and without the fear of power cuts should nothing happen to compromise the Eskom grid.

Eskom also had more good news for those staying at home.

“There will be no scheduled load shedding this coming weekend as the demand is not so high that we are in danger of load shedding.”
