In case of emergency load schedule
Eskom says no load shedding planned but provided an 'in case of emergency' load shedding schedule.
Many reports have claimed that there is a low risk of load shedding during the festive season.
According to Khulu Phasiwe, Communications Officer at Eskom, “There are no plans to implement load shedding. The system looks better than it did before. In fact, we have planned from last Tuesday for no load shedding over the festive season so that people can enjoy this time of year. Of course things could change but otherwise, we have not planned load shedding.”
In the case of circumstances changing, Eskom has provided an in case of emergency load shedding schedule.
This is to say that no plans have been made for load shedding but matters could change as demand cannot be so easily be predicted.
This schedule is just in case the demand is too high for the supply at Eskom and who they will switch off in the event of an emergency.
