Stage one load shedding lifted, for today

'We are not out of the woods yet' — Eskom.

Eskom has confirmed reports of stage one of load shedding being lifted.

According to Khulu Phasiwe from Eskom’s media desk, “After we issued the notice, we began experiencing a reduction in usage. We also managed to restore some of the generating units that were lost.

“We would like to thank customers for reducing their electricity usage after we sent out the initial notice as it made a great impact on the grid,” he said.

He continued “The system is relatively stable but we are not out of the woods yet. It is unfortunate but we will be experiencing similar situations for the rest of the week, however, we look good today should nothing happen to compromise the grid.”
