Video: EFF protestors speak

'They shot me over and over again' — resident.

EFF supporters gave the herald a detailed account of what went down when police fired rubber bullets and teargas during Wednesday’s protest action.

According to them, they were not warned by police and their plans – a reason for the retaliation.

“We were marching peacefully and did not want to fight with anybody when the police suddenly yelled “Fire”. I tried to run away but I was knocked to the ground. I was then shot over and over again,” a shocked Matshidiso Maja, one of the many people injured explained.

EFF Communication Officer, Kholeka Mandya was outraged by the actions of the police and told the herald that they wanted to march peacefully to the Randfontein Municipality to give in their Memorandum.

Things are currently calm in the area.
