Low to medium risk of load shedding today

'This is not because of the State of the Nation Address' – Eskom.

It is but hours away from the State of the Nation Address by President Jacob Zuma and Eskom has announced that there is a low to medium risk of load shedding for Thursday.

According to Khulu Phasiwe from the Eskom Media Desk, “Although we see a lot of demand following the start of the day, some of our generating units were brought back on and others are expected to follow suit.”

He adds, “The low to medium risk is not as a result of the State of the Nation Address but rather because we coincidentally could get our generating units back on today which means that we have the generating capacity to meet the demand and therefore keep the lights on.”
