Councillors and municipal officials alike have been called on to attend a Council meeting at the Randfontein Local Municipality’s Council Chambers.

It has been rumored that the meeting was called as a result of the replacement of the Randfontein Executive Mayor, Sylvia Thebenare.

These rumors were confirmed by Speaker Mzi Elias Khumalo, Speaker of the Randfontein Local Municipality.

According to the agenda, the replacement and re-election of a Randfontein Executive Mayor will be put last on the agenda as it is a supplementary item on the agenda.

It cannot be confirmed that the Randfontein Executive Mayor will definitely be replaced as it is subject to a Council vote.
