R’fontein switched off without warning
Municipality says one thing but Eskom has the final say.
On Thursday afternoon, Eskom announced that stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 5pm to 10pm.
At first, the good news was that Randfontein would not be affected in any of the three stages, well this according to the municipality’s original July load shedding schedule at least.
While the municipality said one thing, Eskom clearly had the final say.
At around 8pm, the Herald received word that at least six areas are without power.
The areas are Hillside, Middelvlei, part of Greenhills, Randgate, Eike Park and Culemborg Park.
