EFF march over demands fails

This failed attempt can only be described as ridiculous – ANC

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) march to the Westonaria Local Municipality has failed the ANC said in a statement.

The march, aimed to deliver a set of demands took place on Friday (14 August).

“This failed attempt can only be described as ridiculous and opportunistic political posturing which carries no interest of our people whatsoever,” said Mzi Elias Khumalo from the ANC West Rand Executive Committee.

“It is further proven by the fact that the community of Westonaria overwhelmingly rejected the attempted march, which was confirmed by the very few EFF members who ultimately presented the memorandum to the Executive Mayor of WLM,” he explained.

The EFF does not have the interest of society at heart but rather to perennially and predictably create unnecessary tension in our local communities,” Khumalo added.

He further wishes to thank the Westonaria Local Municipality for their continued constructive engagement regarding matters of service delivery concerns affecting local communities.

Furthermore, he wishes to encourage communities to continue constructively engaging and interacting with the Westonaria Local Municipality on matters of concern.
