Changes to the DA R’fontein caucus

Newly elected leader: We have the responsibility to ensure residents receive a high standard of service delivery

The Randfontein DA caucus management has undergone some changes as a result of their leader stepping down.

Evert du Plessis who recently was elected as the DA chairperson for the West Rand has decided to step down as leader of the Randfontein caucus to focus his attention on the West Rand as a whole.

As a result, the management had to change and a new leader had to be chosen.

The new DA Randfontein caucus:

• Alwyn van Tonder – new caucus leader

• Gerhard Kruger – new caucus whip

• Balderic Dreyer – new caucus moderator

• Jetta Beaufort – secretary

• Sina Erasmus – vice chair

• Peter Dick – media spokesperson

• Craig Harrison – chairperson

As the newly elected leader I plan to build on the growth that we as the DA in Randfontein has experienced over the past years and will continue to promote responsible and transparent governance within the Randfontein Municipality,” Van Tonder said.

“I believe as politicians, we have the responsibility to ensure that residents of Randfontein receive a high standard of service delivery and that public funds are spent in the correct manner. We will continue our quest to turn Randfontein into a DA-governed municipality.”
