A man believed to be in his 40s was found inside a nearby residence with a gunshot wound to his hip.

A man in his 40s was injured during an armed robbery on a gravel road in Westonaria on Friday night, February 18.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said they arrived at the scene at 21:20 to find authorities already in attendance.

“A man believed to be in his 40s was found inside a nearby residence. Medics assessed him and found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his hip.

The man was treated and thereafter transported to a private hospital for urgent care. It is believed that several armed men attempted to rob him.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
