Domestic worker held up in Culemborg Park house robbery — Mapogo

She managed to escape to get assistance. On arrival of the response units the premises was inspected and it was found that the perpetrators had fled the scene without taking any items from the house.

It was a relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said only two incidents were reported for the period between Monday, June 20 and Sunday, June 27.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, June 22 at 13:01 – Theft and an arrest on Main Reef Road, Randfontein: When perpetrators removed pre-cast slabs from the premises the caretaker saw them and gave the alarm. On arrival the response unit members arrested a suspect and approximately 50 pre-cast slabs were recovered.

• Friday, June 24 at 13:30 – House robbery on Vergelegen Street, Culemborg Park: Three perpetrators wearing balaclavas forced open the front security door and entered the house where they held up the domestic worker. She managed to escape to get assistance. On arrival of the response units the premises was inspected and it was found that the perpetrators had fled the scene without taking any items from the house.
