ATM bombed, service station robbed in Uitvalfontein

Criminals first robbed a service station and then targeted an ATM situated in Uitvalfontein.

Randfontein police are searching for four suspects believed to be responsible for an ATM bombing at a service station in Uitvalfontein early this morning, June 6.

West Rand District Police’s communications officer Captain Solomon Sibiya confirmed a case of business robbery is being investigated, saying the crime was committed at about 01:00.

He said the security guard who was on duty noticed four suspects arriving at the garage. He claimed that the suspects ordered the guard into the shop along with three petrol attendants. Thereafter, the suspects ordered them to lie down on the floor.

Sibiya confirmed that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the cashier’s till before the ATM was bombed. Subsequently, Sibiya said that the money box was taken by the suspects.
