Robbers target SPCA worker for cellphone
A dedicated SPCA employee was robbed of his cellphone, and the organisation is now appealing to the community for support in helping him get a new cellphone.
After RandWest SPCA’s dedicated employee, Andries Oupa Lemoa, was robbed of his cellphone, the SPCA is now appealing for the community’s support to help him.
According to manager René van Straten, Andries endured the traumatic incident on June 28. The robbers also managed to take a small amount of money, but as René mentioned, luckily, Andries did not have anything else of value on him during the incident.
“Communication with our employees is very crucial, especially when the cages have to be cleaned and when they have to notify us of certain issues. It ensures a smooth working relationship. In today’s time and age, no one can afford to live without a phone. Therefore, we want to help Andries,” René expressed.
She is appealing to the community to help Andries with a phone. If anyone can contribute, the SPCA can be contacted on 078 911 0538.
