Body found next to plots, case of murder opened

Police have launched a murder investigation after a passerby discovered a man’s body with visible injuries near a plot on Ventersdorp Road.

Police have confirmed that a case of murder was opened today (October 15) after the body of a man was found next to a plot on Ventersdorp Road in Bootha Agricultural Holdings.

According to Gauteng Police provincial spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the body was discovered by a passerby who then alerted the police. When authorities arrived, they declared the man dead on the scene. Masondo noted that the victim had visible injuries to his body.

“The motive for the killing cannot be confirmed at this stage,” Masondo said.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation or lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact their nearest police station or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
