Truck with 55 goats, 34 sheep hijacked – driver reportedly abducted
A truck transporting 55 goats and 34 sheep was reportedly flagged down on the N12 near Westonaria and resulted in the driver of the truck allegedly being hijacked.

A truck carrying livestock (55 goats and 34 sheep) was flagged down on the N12 near Westonaria and resulted in the driver of the truck allegedly being hijacked.

JP de Beer, chairperson of the Stock Theft Information Center (STIC) Randfontein said the truck was signalled to stop by an unknown vehicle at approximately 12:00 on Thursday, November 10.



“They hijacked the driver, put him in their car and drove off with the hijacked Hino 1626 truck heading to Orange Farm. They proceeded to drive around with him in the car for approximately 40 minutes before dropping him next to the side of the road. He then proceeded to a police station.”



De Beer added the driver said there were four hijackers who were of South African nationality.


The truck’s vehicle registration number is JNW381NW.
“There is a reward for anyone who has information leading to the recovery of the sheep and goats. If anyone has any information, please contact me on 082 212 3925.”
Westonaria Police Spokesperson Sergeant Audrey Sefara has been approached for comment which will be published once received.
