Homeowner attacked, assaulted for a cellphone in Eikepark
Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report in the Rand West City that included damage to property and theft.
A homeowner was attacked and assaulted by armed perpetrators who were hiding inside a premises in Eikepark, in one of nine serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City for the period Monday, November 14 to Sunday, November 20.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at about 04:22 last Monday, November 14.
“The perpetrators also stole the owners cell phone and fled the scene,” said Willemse.
Details about other incidents:
• Monday, November 14 at 12:06 – Attempted housebreaking in Blesbok Street, Greenhills
While the owner was inside the house perpetrators lifted the front gate from its rails and proceeded to the front door where they attempted to gain access. The owner made an alarm and the suspects fled the scene in a white Kia hatch motor vehicle.
• Monday, November 14 at 22:06 – Attempted theft of a motor vehicle in Road 8, Randpoort
Perpetrators gained access through the garage and removed tools and broke the vehicle window with the intention to steal the owner’s vehicle when the alarm activated the perpetrators fled the scene leaving all stolen items inside the vehicle.
• Thursday, November 17 at 09:34 – Attempted housebreaking and an arrest in Belladonna Street, Greenhills
Perpetrators attempted to break into the premises when the owner made alarm, they fled the scene. On arrival of response units the area was inspected and three perpetrators were found hiding inside an empty house. Housebreaking equipment and a hand pellet gun was found in their possession. The perpetrators was handed over to the police for further investigation.
• Friday, November 18 at 07:15 – Malicious damage to property in Kenneth Avenue, Greenhills
Perpetrators broke a small window at the back of the property and fled the scene.
• Friday, November 18 at 11:48 – Malicious damage to property in Road 2, Wheatlands
Perpetrators cut the electric fence power cables and fled the scene.
• Friday, November 18 at 20:14 – Housebreaking and theft in Zuurberg Street, Finsbury
Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the pre-cast wall and proceeded to the front door where they forced open the security gate and front door and stole a television and a sound bar.
• Saturday, November 19 at 08:17 – Theft in Johannes Road, Ooster Plots
Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by jumping over the fence and proceeded to the tank where they stole one solar panel and two flood lights and fled the scene.
• Saturday, November 19 at 11:20 – Theft in Raven Street, Greenhills
Perpetrators gained access by climbing over the wall and proceeded to steal a copper pipe and fridge motor and fled the scene.
