Missing Glenharvie man found dead

The deceased was identified by the family at the scene as Glenharvie resident Sibabalwe Mcimbi, 29.

Police urged anyone with information to come forward after the body of a missing person was found in an open veld near a shopping complex in Glenharvie, Westonaria last Thursday morning, March 9.

Westonaria Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Audrey Sefara confirmed the body discovered was that of a man.

“Police received a complaint about a body being found in an open veld near the complex at about 11;00. Upon arrival on the scene, we found a man lying face up. The deceased wore blue and green takkies, a blue Adidas t-shirt, a tracksuit, and a blue hat. A blue and yellow jacket was also found lying next to the body,” said Sefara who added that emergency services personnel were also on the scene.

The family has since identified the body as 29-year-old Glenharvie resident, Sibabalwe Mcimbi.

“His body was taken to a Carletonville forensic pathologist. Investigations are ongoing,” added WO Sefara.
