Resident’s life a daily struggle due to large lump

Although he is not sure about what caused the lump, he does suspects that his condition is a result of an accident he had back in 2008.

Venterspost resident David Edwards’ life has changed for the worse and is struggling with ordinary daily activities due to an overgrown lump in his upper thigh area.

The lump, which started small, has grown over the years and become huge. It even excretes a liquid substance from time to time thus making it uncomfortable for Edwards to go about his daily business.

Venterspost resident David Edwards’ life has changed for the worse due to the massive lump on his thigh.

The Herald visited him and his family, and one could sense the pain in his voice during the interview.

He said he has been like this for approximately 12 years and added that his leg pains every single day. This is frustrating, to say the least.

“I’m not really sure how this lump came about but I suspect it was caused by the car accident I had back in 2008. I remember I was fine all along but my issues started in 2011 and that’s when my leg started giving me problems. It started as a small lump and grew larger over time.

“As it stands, I have sleepless nights because of this and it’s burning every time. I’ve got excruciating pain every minute of the day. I’ve also gone from one hospital to the next and it’s only in November last year that I was able to undergo two surgeries. I am yet to do another one,” said Edwards, who added that he wants the lump to be removed so he can live a happy meaningful life once again.

He stays in a garage with his wife and two children and both he and his wife are currently unemployed.

They look forward to the day when his leg will be restored to its former glory and when he will be able to work for his family once again.
