Planned power interruptions on top of load-shedding in parts of town
The municipality has confirmed that there are planned outages on top of load-shedding in parts of Rand West City from noon on Wednesday until at least after midnight.
Apart from Eskom implementing Stage 6 load-shedding in different parts of the country, residents of Randfontein will be faced with even more hours without electricity.
This comes as the Rand West City Local Municipality has planned scheduled outages that will occur at the Mohlakeng and Westergloor substations today, September 13.
This will be until 16:30 and again from 20:00 to 00:30.
The municipality’s spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa said that the electrical department is appealing to residents to heed the call to use electricity sparingly during these downtimes.
“We kindly request residents to switch off all geysers during these time frames to prevent overloading and power outages. Let’s collaborate to avoid inconvenience,” Montshiwa said.
