Sanitary towel drive launched by pageantry finalists

Pageantry enthusiasts and finalists have made it their goal to give back to the community by donating to the less fortunate.

Miss Proficient South Africa 2024 finalists recently took strides in community empowerment by donating clothing and sanitary products to those in need.

The finalists have embarked on a mission to make a meaningful change within their community. They have been collecting clothing and donating it to individuals who are in need.

Involved in community-building initiatives for several years, Bali Mataba and Pretty Legatlape have put their own resources into projects aimed at making a difference. However, despite their efforts of upliftment, they have only been able to address about 2% of the pressing needs within the community.

A supportive network of pageantry enthusiasts, facilitated by Tidimalo Moepeng and Karabo Machabela, has sparked hope to raise the bar. Bali noted they have successfully restored and nurtured more individuals than ever before.

Currently, the finalists are spearheading a sanitary towel drive designed to promote dignity among young girls in local schools. They aim to collect about 2 000 or more sanitary pads in order to distribute them among primary and high school girls in Randfontein.

“The collective vision of the finalists is to create lasting change, one donation at a time. As we approach the grand finale on December 7, we are eager to achieve our goals and invite you to join us in this endeavour. Our guiding principle, ‘No man is an island’, reflects the belief that collective efforts are vital for creating meaningful change,” Bali expressed.

He further thanked the Dance Hub Family for their support and dedication.
