In sports there can only be one winner and the winners of the Westonaria Youth Day sports tournament have been announced.
The tournament was held on 16, 18 and 19 June by Xpandable Roots Trading in partnership with the Westonaria Local Municipality in a bid to take the town’s youth off the streets to show them drugs are not the way as well as to celebrate Youth Day the only way they know how – with sports.
The tournament boasted teams from all over the West Rand under various sports codes including soccer and netball. The tournament was held at various venues in Westonaria to include as much of the town as possible.
Soccer winner:
• Sandton Masters Football Club (FC)
Netball winner:
• South Deep Netball Club
