Young, old gather for Grace Race
Cycling enthusiasts young and old gathered in large numbers for this year's Grace Race.

The AGS Groen Weivelde Grace Race, which was held at the Greenhills Stadium on Saturday, 27 August, was a huge success.
The day was kick-started earlier than expected by a total of 75 over-eager cyclists ready to start the race.
“The Grace Race is solely to thank God for His endless mercy and to make people aware of it,” said Enrico van Aswegen, a member of the executive board of the church. He said further they received a total of 138 entries, which resulted in a successful event.
The event featured a 21km cycle race, a 5km fun run and a kids’ race for the young ones.
The cyclists rode from the Greenhills Stadium along North Way Road to the Tarlton crossing and back to the stadium.
“It was a fun route, we ride it frequently, but it was a bit too short for us,” Alwyn Steenkamp, overall winner of the cycle race laughingly said.
The fun run took place in the vicinity of the stadium, while the kids’ race and games were held inside the stadium.
Helgard Wilkins and Darrell Viljoen, joint overall winners of the fun run, said it was great training for next year’s Comrades Marathon.
AGS Groen Weivelde would like to thank each and every sponsor for their support and cooperation.
