“We are happy with the field of athletes that turned up to the fun run, which is more of a launch of Khalimambo AC.

We had the privilege of Olympians gracing this race, being the likes of Hezekiel Sepeng who is a former Olympics silver medallist; Coolboy Ngamole, the London Olympics Marathon contender; and local boy Sibusiso Nzima who recently took part in the Rio Olympics,” said Doarah Mgwevu, KAC founder and chairperson, who is also commission member of Athletics South Africa (ASA).

“We would like to take the sport to Westonaria, especially to those staying in Bekkersdal, Simunye and Westonaria Borwa to become club members – not only top runners but even those who just want to keep fit.”
