Randfonteiners among the 17 031 runners at this year's Comrades Marathon. Here's how they fared ...

People from across the world, South Africa and Randfontein made their way to KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday, 4 June to participate in the 92nd Comrades Marathon.

The Comrades Marathon is an ultra-marathon of approximately 89km which is run annually in KwaZulu-Natal, between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It is the world’s largest and oldest ultra-marathon race. It alternates between an up- and a down-run every second year.

Charlene Beukman finished with a time of 09:59:49.

The eight athletes completed the race as follows:

• Darnéll Viljoen – 07(hours):32(minutes):28 (seconds)

• Obed Motjale – 08:47:35

• Daniel Willemse – 08:56:51

• Charlene Beukman – 09:59:49

• Almon Zibuse – 10:39:59

• Helgard Wilkens – 10:43:07

• Andrew Macfarlane – 11:32:42

• Butch Grobbelaar – 11:58:17
