What not to miss in sport this weekend!
Here's what's happening in the sporting world this weekend.
The Herald has compiled a list of some of the must-see sporting events that will be screened on television on Saturday, 23 June and Sunday, 24 June.
SATURDAY, 23 JUNE
Football:
• The Soccer World Cup in Russia continues on Saturday with the first clash between Belgium and Tunisia taking place at 1.45pm followed by South Korea and Mexico at 4.45pm and Germany and Sweden at 7.45pm!
Rugby:
• Pride will be on the line, especially for France and England as we head into Week 3 of international rugby. The action starts at 9.25am between the world’s best team, the All Blacks and France followed by the Wallabies and Six Nations champions, Ireland – the series is locked at one all – at 11.55am. Tune in again at 4.55pm for the third and final test between the Springboks and England in Cape Town. And if that’s not enough, catch a struggling Argentina to face Scotland from 9.30pm.
And, if you are looking for something completely different, catch the following …
• Champions Trophy (hockey) from 2pm
• Day one of the third test between West Indies and Sri Lanka (cricket) from 8.45pm
• Qualifying rounds of the Formula One French GP (motorsport) from 3.55pm
• Red Bull Air Race in Budapest (aviation) from 4pm
• IBO Welterweight Championship fight between Thulani Mbenge and Diego Gabriel Chaves (boxing) from 7pm
SUNDAY, 24 JUNE
Football:
• The Soccer World Cup in Russia continues on Sunday with the first match between England and Panama taking place at 1.45pm, followed by Japan and Senegal at 4.45pm, and Poland and Colombia at 7.45pm.
Rugby:
• Don’t miss the Gold Cup clash between Raiders and Pirates at 10.25am followed by the Valke and Pumas at 12.55pm and Lions XV v Bulls at 2.55pm.
