CGA event coming to the township

Boabab Athletics Club is ready to host a CGA Cross Country League event on 7 July.

Boabab Athletics Club is ready to host the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) Cross Country League 6 event at the Simunye Gymnasium – the first time ever! It will start at 11am on Saturday, 7 July.

Throughout the years, the West Rand version of the CGA Leagues have been hosted at the Westonaria Sports Complex.

“It is a first time for us as Boabab and also Simunye to host an event of this kind. We are prepared, and thanks to the approval of the CGA, we are doing the township proud and bringing sport to the people,” said Ofentse Ntibane, Baobab chairperson.

Local top athletes to feature at the event are Kabelo Melamu and Cornelia Joubert.

Itumeleng Sisiko from Mohlakeng is expected to make an appearance.

Boabab’s Omphemetse Montoe and Omphile Twala, who have been doing well at previous leagues, will also feature.
