Randmark, Westaria clubs at Comrades
Runners from Randmark Run and Cycle Club as well as Westaria Athletics club held the town's name high during the 2019 Comrades Narathon.
The 94th Comrades Marathon took place on Sunday, 9 June, and athletes from Randfontein shone brightly during the Ultimate Human Race.
Runners from Randmark Run and Cycle Club as well as the Westaria Athletics Club took part in this year’s marathon.
Casper Luther of Randmark finished his very first Comrades with a time of 11 hours, 25 minutes and 12 seconds.
Gavin Pasegrouw ran his 14th Comrades and Lorinda Engelbrecht ran her third. They both finished with a time of 11 hours, 7 minutes and 11 seconds.
During his eighth Comrades, Michael Moloi had a good run and finished with a time of 11 hours, 52 minutes and 27 seconds.

Unfortunately, Karin Bezuidenhout, who ran her second Comrades, didn’t make it. As far as Westeria Athletics Club is concerned, Bernie and LizĂ© Jansen ran their second Comrades this year.
They got their back-to-back medals and completed the race in 11 hours and 28 minutes. Unfortunately, the 65-year-old James Mitchell could not finish his 10th Comrades Marathon. Members of both clubs are already looking forward to next year’s Comrades Marathon.
