Entries officially open for 2026 Totalsports Women's Race

Entries officially opened this week for South Africa’s premier Women’s Month celebration, the Totalsports Women’s Race.

The event will take place over three consecutive Sundays in August, starting in Durban on August 2, followed by Cape Town on August 9 and concluding in Johannesburg on August 16.

Thousands of women from across the country are expected to take part, choosing between scenic 5km and 10km routes in each host city, in celebration of movement, camaraderie and empowerment.

Michael Meyer, managing director of Stillwater Sports, said the opening of entries is always a highlight, encouraging women of all ages and fitness levels to take part. He noted that whether participants are aiming for a personal best or simply enjoying a walk with friends, the event offers an inclusive and inspiring way to celebrate Women’s Month.

The Totalsports Women’s Race will again support PinkDrive in 2026, contributing to breast cancer awareness and promoting early detection. Meyer added that the event also provides South Africa’s elite athletes with a valuable opportunity to compete in a world-class, women-only race series across three cities.

Nikki Crous, head of marketing at Totalsports, emphasised that the race is more than a sporting event, describing it as a celebration of strength, unity, and shared experiences. She highlighted the unique character of each host city – from Durban’s coastline to Cape Town’s scenery and Johannesburg’s vibrant atmosphere – and encouraged women to enter early and take part.

With limited entries available and strong demand expected, participants are urged to secure their place on the start line of one of South Africa’s most iconic women’s events.
