Eersterust man sought after skipping bail
Kirwin Cowen Arendse from Eersterust is wanted by the Brooklyn police.
Brooklyn police are looking for 40-year-old Kirwin Cowen Arendse from Eersterust who, they believe, can assist in their investigation of a theft out of motor vehicle case in Menlo Park.
Arendse was arrested last year after he was found in possession of an alleged stolen laptop.
According to Warrant Officer Garry Morwamoche of the police, on 19 September 2014, police on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle speeding away from the Menlo Park Primary School.
“A chase ensued and the vehicle collided into another vehicle in Hazelwood. A laptop that had been reported as stolen was found inside the suspects’ vehicle and the police immediately arrested Arendse and a second suspect,” said Warrant Officer Morwamoche.
Arendse appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 14 February this year, where he was granted bail and the case was postponed. He did not turn up for his next court appearance and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the court.
The Brooklyn police are calling on the help of the community to assist them with information on the whereabouts of Arendse.
Anyone with information can contact the investigation officer at Brooklyn, Warrant Officer Garry Morwamoche, on 076-904-4007 or 072-995-8092 or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or SMS Crime Line 32211 to report crime anonymously.
