Grove Mall bomb scare false
Police confirmed that the Grove Mall was clear after a bomb scare on Friday afternoon.
Police confirmed that the Grove Mall in Equestria was cleared of any explosives after a bomb scare on Friday afternoon.
The mall’s spokesperson, Pierre Botha said a call came through to their landline, stating there was a bomb in the building.
He said shoppers and employees were immediately evacuated.
“The police and the bomb squad were contacted,” said Botha.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Michael Mbewe said the mall was cleared.
“Our sniffer dogs helped in the search and nothing was found. It was a false call,” he said.
The mall was reopened to the public and employees, he said.
This was the second bomb scare at the mall on Friday, Mbewe said.
“Apparently there was another bomb scare in the early hours of the morning but that was also false.”
The mall is currently hosting the international Ripley’s Believe It or Not expo.
