Woman arrested, husband still at large
Police still looking for a 34-year-old woman's husband after she was arrested.
A woman was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and defeating the ends of justice.
“After she and her husband borrowed a Hyundai bakkie from a friend in May, they never return it,” Hercules police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said.
He said in July the woman sent the owner of the vehicle a message claiming the vehicle was stolen.
“She then opened a case of theft of a motor vehicle at Hercules police,” he said.
Police investigations revealed the bakkie was sold to a garage in Sefako Makgatho Drive (Zambesi). The bakkie was seized and impounded for further investigation.
Police are searching for the woman’s husband who is at large.
The woman is yet to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
