Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma’s (Ma Ntuli) legal team denied reports that she confessed to knowing about the plot to poison her husband President Jacob Zuma.
This after media reports surfaced on Sunday stating the president’s wife was under investigation by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) after a plot to poison Zuma.
A Sunday newspaper reported that Ma Ntuli would be charged as a co-conspirator in the plot, which allegedly involved a well-known Kwa-Zulu Natal businessman and local and foreign nationals.
According to reports, the law firm BDK Attorneys said there were no charges of conspiracy to commit murder brought against Ma Ntuli. The firm also said Zuma’s wife had not admitted to having knowledge of a plot to poison her husband.
News broke earlier this year that Ma Ntuli was apparently banned from Zuma’s Nkandla home after he found out about the plot.
Reports state that doctors in the US detected poison in his system after he fell ill in June last year.
Russian medics apparently confirmed the poison.
Ma Ntuli reportedly lives in Durban North with her three children after she moved out of the Nkandla compound in January this year.
