Police are looking for four armed men who hijacked two Pakistani nationals in Soshanguve before stealing their asylum permits on Saturday.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the Pakistani men were hijacked while they were delivering goods at a shop in Block R.

“The suspects appeared on both sides of the vehicle and started pointing firearms at the two men in the vehicle. They opened their vehicle and told them to sit at the back while they took the front seat and started driving off with them,” he said.

Mangena said the two victims were dropped off at a bridge unharmed, but their asylum permits were taken away from them.

In another hijacking incident, a man was hijacked in his Nissan 1400 bakkie at his home in Soshanguve, Block F on Sunday.

Mangena said the complainant was arriving home when four men appeared and pointed firearms at him. “The suspects ordered him to hand his vehicle keys over and when he did, they put him in the back of his bakkie and left with him. The complainant was dropped off at Winterveldt unharmed,” he said.

Mangena said the four men left with his bakkie which had cooking pots, tables and chairs inside.

None of the vehicles have been recovered.
