A mini-substation was damaged Thursday afternoon in Clubview, Centurion when a heavy vehicle crashed into it.

Ward 66 councillor Ina Strijdom said most of the area was without power as a result.
“A repair team is currently on site busy with repairs,” said Strijdom.
“It will try to restore electricity as soon as they can. The team gives an estimate of two hours for the power to be restored to most households affected.”

Damage was estimated at R495 000.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital.
