NEWSFLASH: Police officer shot dead in west hijacking

A reliable source said the officer was apparently shot when he was hijacked.

A police officer was shot dead in an apparent hijacking in the west of Pretoria on Saturday.

Best Care ambulance spokesperson Xander Loubser said this happened around 22:00 in Court Street.

He said the officer was already dead upon the arrival of paramedics.

“The patient was declared dead on the scene and was handed over to the police for further investigation,” he said.

A reliable source said the police officer was apparently shot when he was hijacked.

Residents were urged to look out for a grey Kia sedan with the registration number DX 69 DR GP.
