A group of 10 men robbed a family on a smallholding in Erasmia in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto said one person was injured during the robbery.
“The complainant heard noises outside the house around 2am. When he went out to investigate, he saw a group of men attempting to break into the house. He alerted his housemates and together they tried to stop the suspects from entering,” he said.
Following a scuffle, the robbers managed to get inside the house, Moloto said.
“One of the occupants in the house suffered minor injuries while trying to stop the robbers.
“The suspects ransacked the house before fleeing with two laptops and a number of valuable items,” he said.
Moloto said a case of house robbery was opened.
