UPDATE: Man in court for Queenswood murder

The case was postponed for further investigation.

A man has appeared in court briefly in connection with the murder of a Queenswood resident.

Pierre de Jonge appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court for the alleged murder of Elbé Oosthuizen last week Wednesday.

Villieria police spokesperson Captain Coba Brits said the case was postponed for further investigation and De Jonge remains in police custody.

De Jonge was arrested on the same day of the murder.

Elbé’s daughter Tania Krantz said her mother would be dearly missed.

“She was taken away from us far too soon…a piece of me went with her,” she said.

She said she could not divulge any information for fear of interfering with the police investigation.
