Two house burglars were arrested in Rooihuiskraal on Thursday morning following a chase.
Three armed men allegedly entered the house to rob it but were spotted by the owner, said police spokesperson Constable Tumisang Moloto.
“The owner immediately alerted members of the community and local security company. The suspects fled on foot and a chase ensued until they were cornered at R55 near Panorama road,” he said.

Moloto said one suspect was shot and wounded while another was arrested.
“The third escaped and an unlicensed firearm was recovered together with two knives.”
A case of possession of an unlicensed firearm was opened at Wierdabrug SAPS for further investigation, he said.
“The wounded suspect will be officially charged after being released from hospital. His accomplice will appear before Pretoria Magistrate’s Court soon. The hunt for the third suspect continues,” Moloto said.
