Two injured in four Moot robberies in week

The latest incident happened on Thursday.

Two people have injured in four Moot robberies this week.

Ancelize van der Kooi from Kilnerpark Security said a woman was shot on Thursday in an attempted hijacking in Jasmyn Street.

“According to information that we received, an unknown amount of suspects attempted to hijack a white Mercedes vehicle,” she said.

“The owner fought back and was shot.”

Van der Kooi said the vehicle owner was taken to hospital in a stable condition by ER24.

Then on Wednesday three suspects entered an elderly woman’s Mercia Street home, “tied up and robbed of her personal belongings”.

A third robbery took place at a business in Stegman Street.

“The unknown amount of suspects later fled in a white Toyota Quantum,” she said.

On Monday a man was robbed of his personal belongings then stabbed by an unknown amount of suspects at a business in Codonia Avenue.

The man was treated by Life Line paramedics on the scene.

“He is in a stable condition but was not in a condition to give a description of the suspects,” she said.

The police are investigating all the robberies.
