Medical personel were called to a scene in the north of Pretoria on Sunday, where a man was found on the side of the road assaulted with a brick.
The victim was found on the corner Pafuri Avenue and Konavle Street in Sinoville in the north of Pretoria, around 14:00 on Sunday.
“Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male was assaulted with a brick and suffered serious injuries in the process,” Michael Gough from Medi-Edge said.
Gough said Medi-Edge responded to reports of a person lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road in Konavle Street, in Sinoville at around 13:50 this afternoon.
“Upon arrival on the scene, paramedical personnel found an adult male patient with severe lacerations to the head and face, believed to be caused by a blow to the head with a brick.”
According to Gough the patient was treated on the scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care by Netcare 911.
“The patient received treatment on the scene and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
“At this stage, it is not clear what the motive behind the attack was, and will form part of an investigation,” Gough said.
